Brickout Deluxe is an award-winning UX, UI and Graphical modification for an in-browser
Javascript-based vintage arcade-style game

The original bare-bones game, Brickout, was initially posted online
as part of a contest to showcase the online capabilities
of the web-based site/application Mod.it

Using the game as a base, the User Experience, User Interface and
Graphic Design were all re-designed and/or augmented, with new in-game abilities added,
immediate score feedback provided to the player and, behind the scenes,
the ability to create custom maps and levels implemented and used
to design and create several new levels for the game itself

The resulting piece earned Third Place in the “Most Mod-able” category,
was featured on the site, and earned a small monetary award

While the graphics may be the most visible change, the UX/UI upgrades
and level-creation ability contributed greatly to the updated version of the game
feeling much more complete and polished
